Terms & Conditions

A legal disclaimer

Effective Date: 04/30/2026

Welcome to Alex’s Computer & Tech Services. These Terms & Conditions explain the rules, limitations, and expectations that apply when you use this website, book a service, request support, or hire Alex’s Computer & Tech Services for computer repair, tech support, custom PC builds, gaming console service, or related services.

By using this website, submitting a form, booking an appointment, approving an estimate, or using our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Business Information

Alex’s Computer & Tech Services is a mobile computer and tech service provider based in Joshua Tree, California, serving Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, 29 Palms, Morongo Valley, and nearby High Desert communities.

Services may include computer repair, computer setup, custom computer building, PC upgrades, troubleshooting, gaming console cleaning, gaming console diagnostics, home tech setup, and related technical support.

2. Website Use

You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes. You may not use this website to submit false information, interfere with website functionality, attempt unauthorized access, upload harmful files, or misuse contact forms, booking forms, or communication tools.

We may update, change, suspend, or remove parts of the website at any time without notice.

3. Appointments and Booking

Appointments may be booked through the website, by email, phone, text, or another approved communication method.

Submitting a booking request does not always guarantee that the appointment is confirmed. Some appointments may require review and approval depending on the service requested, location, availability, parts needed, estimated time, or complexity of the issue.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate contact information, service location, device details, and a clear description of the issue when booking.

4. Mobile Service

Alex’s Computer & Tech Services offers mobile service when appropriate for the requested work. Mobile service availability may depend on your location, the type of device, the nature of the issue, and the tools or parts required.

Some repairs or diagnostics may require additional time, follow-up work, parts ordering, or off-site service. Additional travel fees may apply for appointments outside the main service area.

5. Pricing, Estimates, and Payments

Prices listed on the website may be starting prices and may not include parts, replacement components, software licenses, accessories, extended labor, travel fees, taxes, or additional services unless clearly stated.

A diagnostic fee may be charged to inspect a device, identify the issue, and recommend next steps. If additional repair work is needed, an estimate will be provided before moving forward whenever possible.

Final pricing may vary depending on the condition of the device, complexity of the issue, parts availability, labor required, and any additional customer-approved work.

Payment is due according to the terms provided at booking, on the invoice, or at the time of service. Services, parts, or completed work may need to be paid before the device is returned or before additional work is performed.

6. Parts, Components, and Customer-Provided Items

Parts, components, accessories, software licenses, and replacement items are not included in service pricing unless clearly stated.

Customers may be responsible for purchasing parts directly. If the customer provides parts, Alex’s Computer & Tech Services is not responsible for defects, incompatibility, missing accessories, incorrect items, counterfeit parts, shipping delays, warranty issues, or failure of customer-provided parts.

If we help recommend parts, the recommendation is based on the information available at the time. Compatibility should be confirmed before purchase whenever possible.

7. Custom PC Builds and Upgrades

Custom PC build and upgrade services may include part compatibility review, assembly, cable management, BIOS setup, operating system installation, driver installation, and basic startup testing depending on the service purchased.

Customers are responsible for purchasing parts unless otherwise arranged. Build timelines may vary depending on part availability, defective components, missing accessories, software setup, updates, troubleshooting, and customer-requested changes.

Alex’s Computer & Tech Services is not responsible for manufacturer defects, shipping damage, part incompatibility caused by incorrect or changed parts, software license issues, or warranty handling for customer-purchased components.

8. Gaming Console Service

Gaming console services may include diagnostics, cleaning, troubleshooting, and other approved work. Some console repairs may require parts, deeper internal service, specialized tools, or additional time.

Not all console issues can be repaired during a single appointment. Some issues, including board-level damage, liquid damage, HDMI port damage, disc drive failure, storage failure, or power issues, may require a separate estimate or may not be repairable.

9. Data, Backups, and Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for backing up important files, photos, documents, software keys, game saves, settings, and other data before service whenever possible.

Computer repair, troubleshooting, upgrades, malware removal, operating system repair, drive replacement, data transfer, or other technical work can involve risk of data loss, especially when a device already has hardware failure, software corruption, malware, or storage drive issues.

Alex’s Computer & Tech Services will take reasonable care when working on your device, but we are not responsible for data loss, corrupted files, lost software, missing licenses, lost passwords, failed drives, or other data-related issues unless required by law.

If data is important, please mention it before work begins.

10. Passwords, Accounts, and Privacy

Please do not submit passwords through the website, booking forms, email, or text message. If a password is needed during service, you may enter it yourself in person when possible.

Some services may require temporary access to a device, operating system, software account, email account, cloud account, or online service. Access will only be used as needed to perform the requested work.

Customers are responsible for maintaining their own account credentials, recovery information, software licenses, subscriptions, and two-factor authentication access.

11. Malware, Security, and Illegal Content

Alex’s Computer & Tech Services may refuse service if a device contains illegal content, stolen property, intentionally harmful software, unauthorized access tools, or content that creates legal, ethical, or safety concerns.

We may also refuse work that involves bypassing security protections, accessing accounts without permission, unlocking stolen devices, evading law enforcement, pirating software, defeating copy protection, or performing unauthorized activity.

12. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Missed Appointments

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide as much notice as possible. At least 24 hours’ notice is preferred.

Missed appointments, last-minute cancellations, incorrect addresses, unavailable customers, or failure to provide access to the device may result in a cancellation fee, travel fee, or forfeited deposit if one was collected.

Alex’s Computer & Tech Services may reschedule appointments due to illness, emergency, unsafe conditions, weather, vehicle issues, parts delays, or other circumstances outside normal control.

13. Service Limitations

While we work carefully and professionally, we cannot guarantee that every device can be repaired, restored, upgraded, cleaned, or made fully functional.

Some devices may have hidden damage, failing components, liquid damage, prior repair damage, software corruption, malware, manufacturer defects, or age-related issues that limit repair options.

We may recommend replacement instead of repair if the cost, risk, or condition of the device makes repair impractical.

14. Warranty and Follow-Up Support

Any warranty or follow-up support will be limited to the specific work performed and will be explained at the time of service or on the invoice when applicable.

Warranty coverage does not apply to unrelated issues, new problems, customer-caused damage, liquid damage, malware reinfection, failing parts not replaced by us, customer-provided parts, accidental damage, power surges, software changes, unauthorized modifications, or issues caused by third-party updates or services.

Manufacturer warranties for parts or devices are handled by the manufacturer or retailer unless otherwise agreed.

15. Refunds

Refunds, if applicable, are handled according to the posted Refund Policy or the terms provided at the time of service.

Diagnostic fees, travel fees, completed labor, special-order parts, opened parts, software licenses, and customer-approved work may be non-refundable unless otherwise stated.

16. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, graphics, branding, images, layout, logos, and other materials, belongs to Alex’s Computer & Tech Services or is used with permission, unless otherwise stated.

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or use website content for commercial purposes without written permission.

17. Third-Party Links and Services

This website may contain links to third-party websites, booking tools, payment processors, social media platforms, or other services. Alex’s Computer & Tech Services is not responsible for the content, policies, security, or practices of third-party websites or services.

Use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alex’s Computer & Tech Services is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of business, lost profits, lost use of equipment, software loss, downtime, or issues caused by pre-existing device conditions.

Our liability, if any, is limited to the amount paid for the specific service related to the claim, unless otherwise required by law.

19. Right to Refuse Service

Alex’s Computer & Tech Services reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or discontinue service for any reason allowed by law, including unsafe conditions, abusive behavior, suspected illegal activity, unreasonable requests, nonpayment, inaccurate information, or work outside our service capabilities.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the website or services after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms & Conditions.
